Geometry and Group Theory

Mini-Workshop "Buildings, galleries and beyond"

On 25th of February 2025 we're hosting a mini-workshop.

Stay tuned for details!

Algebraic structures such as Schubert and flag varieties, Grassmannians and MV cycles may be studied using combinatorial and geometric tools associated with buildings and their generalizations.

This workshop adresses these topics, highlight up to date research questions and aims to foster collaboration.

Talks

The schedule for the talks is below. The talks will take place in seminar room SR4.

Morphisms of affine Λ-buildings

Many constructions of affine Λ-buildings can be found in the literature. In this ongoing project with Flamm, Jaeck and Parreau, we ask how these buildings are related to each other. This requires the development of notions of "morphisms" and "subbuildings". We will discuss examples, non-examples and goals.
