String Theory 3

Seminar Course in the Winter Semester 2025/26

This seminar course is intended as a continuation of String Theory 2 taught in the Summer term by Dr. Hulik. The focus will lie on string compactifications, AdS/CFT and detailed mathematical tests of string dualities.

Time and place

Our favorite slot is Tuesday 2-4pm, first class October 14. However, this is yet to be confirmed by authorities.

Prerequisites

Understanding of string theory at the level of Polchinski/Green-Schwarz-Witten

Credits and Evaluation

The course is listed as Master “specialization module” in Mathematics, and cross-listed as such also in Physics. Credit and evaluation is based on the contribution of one (or more) talk, and regular attendance and participation. The language of instruction is English.

The course will meet once a week somewhere in the Mathematikon.

Participation “for credit” will require registration in heiCO, but we are not planning to use either Müsli or MaMpf.
