The calendar above is essentially fed from the event series that are listed in the HePhySTO system of the physics department. These currently include:
- the Rhind Seminar
- the Mathematical Colloquium
- the Applied Analysis Seminar
- the Formal Mathematics Seminar
- the Seminar Geometry and Group Theory
- the Seminar Theoretical Computer Science and Discrete Mathematics.
In addition, we filter from the GAUS SFB’s WordPress all talks that are not obviously taking place outside of Heidelberg.
The most efficient way to manage event data is to enter it into a single, authoritative “source of truth” and then distribute it across multiple channels. Within the university’s current IT ecosystem, our approach appears to be a plausible implementation of this principle.
